Mark Your Calendars – New Start Time for University Ceremony

The 2018 ECU Spring Commencement Ceremony will be held at a new start time.  The university ceremony will be Friday, May 4, 2018 and starting at 7 p.m. in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.  A schedule of the entire weekend is listed below.

ECU will be announcing additional details about the evening ceremony including the announcement of the keynote speaker and important parking information later in the semester.

This will be a commencement ceremony unlike any other in ECU’s 110 year history.  You won’t want to miss it.  Click here to RSVP for the University ceremony.

Spring 2018 Commencement Speaker – Linda McMahon

Linda McMahon, Administrator of the United States Small Business Administration, will be the speaker for East Carolina University’s Spring Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m.

McMahon’s visit to ECU will wrap up a multi-city bus tour highlighting American entrepreneurship as part of National Small Business Week. During this annual event, the U.S. Small Business Administration recognizes small business owners and key support groups from all 50 states and the U.S. territories. This year’s events will include the bus tour, awards ceremonies and workshops in communities around the country, the first-ever Small Business Hackathon Challenge, and a three-day virtual conference for small business owners.

Severe Weather Plan

This is an outdoor ceremony and will be held rain or shine.  In the unexpected event of severe weather, the university ceremony will be postponed until Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 9 a.m.  Any changes to the University Ceremony will be communicated via ECU Alert and the ECU website (www.ecu.edu).
