ECU Spring 2023 University Commencement Ceremony
The University Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 5, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. There are no guest tickets required to attend the University Commencement Ceremony. Additional details about an RSVP process for the University Ceremony will be announced after March 1st. Graduates should constantly check and monitor their ECU email account for communications from ECU about Spring 2023 Commencement.

College / Department Recognition Ceremonies for Spring 2023.
ECU will also multiple college and department specific recognition ceremonies to celebrate 2023 ECU graduates. These programs will be held on the afternoon of May 5th and all day on May 6th in various locations. The ceremonies, listed below, will require guest tickets as they are held at indoor venues with limited seating in most cases. Information about guest tickets, how/when to pick them up and the number of tickets will be announced in the coming 1-2 weeks.
Note! The maximum number of tickets per graduate will be no more than six (6) guest tickets for the college / department ceremonies. More details about unclaimed or extra tickets will be share in late April.

Will my name appear in the University Commencement Program Booklet?
For Spring 2023 Commencement, graduating seniors who completed the apply to graduate through the Registrar’s process through Pirate Port by February 15, 2023 (for Spring graduates) or March 1, 2023 (for Summer graduates) will have their names included in the program booklet. Those completing the process AFTER this deadline are not ensured to have their name included in the booklet on May 5, 2023. This date has been posted online since December and was also communicated to graduates from their advisors.

- Spring 2023 University Ceremony – May 5, 2023
- Fall 2023 University Ceremony – December 15, 2023
- Spring 2024 University Ceremony – May 3, 2024
The dates/times for individual college or department ceremonies will not be decided until 2-3 months prior to each University Commencement Ceremony.
