University Commencement Ceremony – Map & Directions
Parking is available in lots located north of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and north and east of Minges Coliseum. Once filled, guests will be directed to park in lots on 14th Street and College Hill Drive. Guests with valid state-issued handicapped permits or plates requiring accessible parking should park in the DMV Placard Required area next to Minges Coliseum. These parking spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. An arrival time of at least 45 minutes prior to the ceremony is recommended. There will be ADA Shuttles available in the DMV Placard Required area parking lot that take passengers to the stadium entrance.
There will be no commencement parking at Clark-LeClair Stadium.
From the Tidewater, Va., Area
Take US 13 from Suffolk to Ahoskie, N.C. Take bypass around Ahoskie (NC 11). Take NC 11 to Greenville. NC 11 turns into Memorial Drive. Turn left onto 10th Street/Farmville Blvd. After crossing the overpass, turn right at the second light onto Charles Blvd. (there’s a Sheetz, Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s on the corners). Take Charles Blvd. for 1/2 mile to Ficklen Drive and take a left. Minges Coliseum is up the hill on the right.
From I-95 North
Take I-95 South to US 264 East (Exit 119) toward Greenville/Wilson. You will pass Wilson and Farmville before arriving in Greenville (speed limit reduces from 70 mph to 55 mph). Continue straight for about two miles. You will pass the Vidant Hospital (on left) and cross over Memorial Drive. After crossing the overpass, turn right at the second light onto Charles Blvd. (there’s a Sheetz, Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s on the corners). Take Charles Blvd. for 1/2 mile to Ficklen Drive and take a left. Minges Coliseum is up the hill on the right.
From I-95 South

From Triangle Area
Take US 64 from Raleigh and head east. Take US 264 in Zebulon and pass Wilson and Farmville before arriving in Greenville (speed limit reduces from 70 mph to 55 mph). Continue straight for about two miles. You will pass the Vidant Hospital (on left) and cross over Memorial Drive. From Wilmington
Take Interstate 40 northwest to Wallace. Take right onto NC 51 and head north through Chiquapin and Beulaville (about 20-25 miles). Get on NC 241 in Beulaville and head about 10 miles north to Pink Hill, where you will pick up NC 11. Take NC 11 through downtown Kinston and into Greenville, where it turns into Memorial Drive. Take Memorial Drive to Greenville Blvd., where you will take a right. Take Greenville Blvd. to Charles Blvd. and take a left (ECU message board on corner). Take Charles Blvd. down hill and turn right on Ficklen Drive. Minges Coliseum is up the hill on the right.

East End of Campus Parking Locations
Ceremonies in Wright Auditorium
- All of the A1 spaces in front of Whichard Building and Wright Auditorium will be reserved for ADA guests, as well as the spaces along Beckwith Drive. General parking will be available in every adjacent lot to Wright Auditorium as long as it’s not designated as ADA.
West End of Campus Parking Locations
Ceremonies in Hendrix and Main Campus Student Center
- The parking garage will be free and open all weekend beginning Friday morning. Both the Mendenhall lot and the lot behind the ECU parking/transportation office will be reserved for ADA guests for all ceremonies. General parking will be in the garage as well as any parking space not designated as ADA.

- Minges has plenty of parking for the college ceremonies. There will be amply ADA designated parking at the top lot between the two grass areas between Dowdy Ficklen and Minges (train track side).

Accessible Parking
ECU has designated parking spaces for individuals with DMV issued ADA placards in the Gold Lot between Minges Coliseum and Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. If you have a DMV issued placard, please have it visible when entering the parking lots so that you can be directed to ADA parking.
If the designated Gold Lot fills up, there will be overflow ADA parking available in a parking lot just across 14th street. Shuttle assistance will be provided.
